We’ve all been there – that feeling of post-holiday over-indulgence. Most of us tend to go a little overboard during the holidays. Late nights and running from place to place can take its toll. Not to mention too many sweets (yes, even raw ones) and food in general – from “just one” cookie to a second helping of your favorite childhood dish.

Doesn’t it feel like the perfect time to cleanse and start 2012 fresh? We have put together a few hints to start off the New Year, plus some simple cleanses we personally recommend.

Simply put, a detox is a way of giving your body a chance to rest and get rid of toxins and there are numerous ways to do this. 

A detox program can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. It could be as easy as making sure you get your greens every day with something like Sun Is Shining, taking advantage of the detox powers of chlorella, or it could be a full-blown Ejuva Cleanse with a 7-10 day juice fast finish.

Dark, leafy greens and sprouts are packed full of micronutrients and are low in calories. They are a great way to increase your consumption of vegetables. You’ll find the taste refreshing and cut down on the use of plastics. It’s critical to drink enough water, even in the colder months. 

One of the best ways you can boost your immune system and get rid of toxins is to drink a daily freshly squeezed green juice. When you feel tired and sluggish, this could definitely be a signal that your body needs a rest from digesting. An amazing way to get easily digestible nutrition is to consume fresh juice.
