|In our travels we have had the opportunity to taste some incredible foods, but one fruit that was absolutely unforgettable was mangosteen. The flavor was astonishing, an incredible blend of ripe peach, strawberry, pineapple and banana with tangy citrus and hints of creamy vanilla. No wonder mangosteen is known as the Queen of Fruits!
Mangosteen only grows in ultra-tropical areas making it almost impossible to get here in the U.S., until we started carrying it! This is something every fruit lover must try!
What is a Mangosteen?
|Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana)is a tropical fruit, native to the South Pacific, which contains an impressive array of vitamins and minerals. Mangosteen trees can grow to 80 feet tall and can live up 100 years.
