Description
Some people like olives and some people are crazy about them. Our black botija olives have been famous for years and often sell out. The good news is, these delectable olives are now available in an amazingly delicious tapenade!
Tapenade is a Mediterranean spread traditionally made from cured olives, capers, anchovies and olive oil. Capers are the picked flower bud of the caper bush; anchovies are small, salt water fish. Our tapenade is unique, as it is a raw, organic version made by crushing up our ripe black botija olives with olive oil, herbs and a pinch of pure salt.
Tapenade is the ideal condiment as it lasts a long time, a little goes a long way, and it's a tasty compliment to many foods.

| Benefits | Olives are naturally hight in beautifying oleic acid, and are also one of nature's richest sources of the antioxidant Vitamin E. Olives are technically a fruit! In fact, they are one of the most mineral rich fruits on Earth. Olives are especially high in calcium and magnesium which help to build strong bones. They also contain vitamins A and E and the beautifying, heart healthy oleic acid. Olives also contain protein and compounds called polyphenols which display anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Plus, olives are known as the most powerful mucus dissolver of any fruit. Too much mucus in your system can cause that cold/flu-like feeling of being clogged and stuffy with puffy eyes and dulled senses. Regular consumption of olives can help to clear out excess mucus and lift the fog. Some people worry about the fat content of olives, but they contain monounsaturated fats which are much healthier than the trans fats or saturated fats found in other foods. Our bodies need fats to strengthen cell membranes, beautify the skin and lubricate our joints and intestines. Olives are a delicious source of healthy and alkaline plant-based fats. |
| Recommended Usage | A little tapenade spread on a romaine lettuce leaf or a slice of cucumber is the favorite way to eat it here at Sunfood. Other serving ideas include: spread thinly on cucumber or zucchini slices; serve a small scoop on top of vegetable "pasta" (spiralized vegetables) and sauce; serve a small scoop alongside a green salad; spread a thin line down the middle of a cabbage leaf, add some chopped veggies and roll for a tasty wrap; add a tablespoon to your favorite Italian dressing recipe.
