The certified organic almonds used to create this delicious snack are Truly Raw, beginning life in the fertile valleys of Spain. With their full life force intact, raw Almonds are one of nature's most perfect foods, offering high levels of magnesium and as well as good amounts of potassium, calcium, and fiber. Almonds are more alkaline than many other nuts, and the Better Than Roasted process actually increases their alkalinity even further.
The sweet taste and satisfying crunch of these almonds is revealed during the careful method of processing which makes them Better Than Roasted. The BTR™ process begins with raw, whole, certified organic almonds which are repeatedly hand-sorted through all four steps of the soaking and drying process. Soaking nuts initiates germination and removes naturally occurring, bitter-tasting phytates, which have been shown to inhibit digestion as well as block the absorption of some nutrients. Once these almonds have been soaked, there is nothing preventing the assimilation of all the nutrients found in one of nature's most treasured foods.
After soaking and more sorting, the almonds are dried at temperatures below 108 degrees Fahrenheit, which protects vital enzymes and nutrients and maintains their raw, live character. Foods high in live enzymes require less work on the part of the digestive system, leading to higher bio-availability of nutrients. The proprietary four-fold, four day, quality control process yields an extremely high-quality, fresh, sweet and crisp almond.
