Description

Due to enormous demand, we proudly announce the availability of the world's first and only certified organic 100% Raw Cacao Butter (also known as Raw Cocoa Butter).

What is Raw Cacao Butter? Sunfood Cacao Butter is the only raw, certified organic, chemical-free cocoa butter. Cacao butter is literally the pure oil of the cacao bean, which comes directly from the cacao tree, and is what white chocolate is made of.

Our cacao comes directly from a farm  that we work closely with regarding quality and high standards. Sunfood Cacao Butter is created through a specially created low temperature method that ensures that vital enzymes and nutrients remain intact; maintaining nature’s original healing intent of this “Food of the Gods”.

This first-rate process begins by grinding Sunfood Cacao Nibs into a "paste" so that the oil begins to separate from the protein and fiber. The temperature is never allowed to exceed (or even reach) 120 degrees Fahrenheit and is usually 104 degrees Fahrenheit (most other cocoa butters are exposed to temperatures as high as 300 degrees Fahrenheit!). A high-accuracy thermometer is used throughout processing. The paste is then poured into a press which squeezes out the oil. Slowly, the pure, liquid delicious cacao butter drips into a separate container where it is allowed to cool and is then packaged lovingly for shipment. It takes approximately 2-1/2 to 3 pounds of raw cacao nibs/beans to create one pound of raw Cacao Butter.

Directly from the cacao farms, to the packaging facility, to the workers and to you, we have done everything possible to ensure that super-high quality and integrity comes through in our finished food products. No chemicals, no hexane, no solvents.

Benefits

Our Cacao Butter is packed with antioxidants, including polyphenols, catechins and epicatechins that help to fight off free radicals, giving you a healthy, complete superfood. In addition, flavonols help the body produce Nitric Oxide, a compound essential for proper heart function.

Using cacao butter topically on the skin is a treat like no other – it leaves your skin glowing, vibrant, revitalized, soft and supple. It provides instant olfactory and tactile euphoria. We recommend using on your skin after or during a shower or bath.

Raw Cacao is one of nature's most fantastic superfoods due to its high mineral content and wealth of antioxidants. Since many of the special properties of cacao are destroyed or lost by cooking, refining, and processing, planet Earth's favorite food is still unknown to most of us. Now we get to reconnect with the power of real, raw chocolate! Raw Cacao offers fantastic hope for chocoholics everywhere. You can turn cravings for cooked, processed, chocolate into the super-nutrition of the highest order.

Sunfood's Raw Cacao Powder is packed with antioxidants, including polyphenols, catechins and epicatechins that help to fight off free radicals, giving you a healthy, complete superfood known as the Food of the Gods. In addition, flavonols help the body produce Nitric Oxide, a compound essential for proper heart function. Clean and microbe-free, cacao nibs offer a powerful boost of phenylethylamine (PEA) and anandamide, which both enhance positive feelings. Raw cacao is also a natural source of trace minerals, such as manganese, zinc and copper, which help to maintain healthy blood while theobromine, iron, chromium, magnesium and omega-6 fatty acids play an important role in heart health, brain function, growth and development.

Antioxidants: Cacao contains the highest concentration of antioxidants of any food in the world. This point is so astounding that it bears repeating: No food exhibits greater antioxidant capacity than cacao! These antioxidants include polyphenols, catechins, and epicatechins. By weight, Cacao has more antioxidants than red wine, blueberries, acai, pomegranates, and goji berries COMBINED.

Phenethylamine (PEA): Raw Cacao contains high levels of Phenylethylamine (PEA). Often known as The Love Chemical, PEA is the chemical produced in our bodies when we fall in love. This is likely one of the main reasons why love and chocolate have such a deep connection. PEA also plays a role in increasing focus and alertness.

Tryptophan: An essential amino acid which is transformed into important stress-protective neurotransmitters including serotonin and melatonin. Tryptophan is heat sensitive and therefore it is cooked out in many high protein foods and in conventional processed chocolate products.

Serotonin: The primary neurotransmitter in the human body, Serotonin is similar in its chemistry to tryptophan and melatonin. Serotonin helps us build up our stress defense shield which supports our immune system in times of high demand.

Omega 6 Fatty Acids: Raw cacao contains essential omega 6 fatty acids, which form an integral part of our cell walls and allow for more efficient communication between cells.

Anandamide: The human body naturally produces endorphins after exercise, neurotransmitters which flood our brains with positive feelings. One of these neurotransmitters is Anandamide, also known as The Bliss Chemical. While humans have to work hard to produce enough Anandamide to reach higher levels of ecstasty, only one plant produces this chemical as part of its normal metabolism: Cacao! Not only does Cacao contain Anandamide in high concentrations, it also contains enzyme inhibitors that decrease our bodies' ability to breakdown The Bliss Chemical. When we eat raw cacao, the Anandamide produced by our brains along with the Anadamide found in cacao may continue to circulate in the body for extended periods of time, helping us feel great all day long.

Recommended Usage

Sunfood Cacao Butter is edible and possesses an extraordinary rich, delicate chocolate aroma. Add a piece of this ecstatic butter to your favorite smoothie, dessert, ice cream or chocolate creation. Because it has not been damaged by heat, our cacao butter melts easily and blends nicely into any type of recipe. This makes it super fun and easy to use.

A tip from Sunfood is to simply place the whole 14 oz. jar in a deyhdrator and wait for it to melt. If you do not have a dehydrator, simply place the jar in a bowl with very hot water and it will melt.

Using cacao butter topically on the skin is a treat like no other – it leaves your skin glowing, vibrant, revitalized, soft and supple. It provides instant olfactory and tactile euphoria.
