Not Another Protein Shake…
Getting enough protein into your diet can be difficult with a plant-based lifestyle, so many of us look to protein powders and supplements for support.
Sugar-filled, processed snack-bars and drinks are convenient, but not very healthy options. It’s better to drink homemade protein shakes but that can get boring and monotonous day after day.
Have you ever wondered what else you can do with your protein powder?

Sunfood Protein PowdersWe decided to get creative in the Sunfood kitchen and mix up our protein game with some easy-to-make, pack-able and snack-able recipes that all have a boost of protein!

*Note: We were using our ultra-high quality Natural, Chocolate and Vanilla Protein Powders for these recipes; other types of protein powders may not have the same results.

How Much Protein Do I Really Need?
Sunfood Natural Protein Powder

It’s important to note that in terms of adulthood, RDIs are pretty basic and do not take into account activity levels, as well as the fact that some people feel better on more protein than others.

Men and women are generally recommended to take in between 46g – 57g for women between the ages of 19 -70 and 64g – 81g for men of the same age group.

Let’s not forget about our breastfeeding mothers with an RDI of 63 – 67g and expecting moms, who require up to 60g of protein per day! New or expecting mothers have an increased protein RDI in order to support their new motherly changes and fetal growth.

Children between the ages of 4-8 are recommended to consume 20g of protein per day while growing teens are advised to consume between 35g – 65g per day depending on their weight, height and age.

In these vital adolescent years, protein intake is increased to assist growth spurts, increase energy and fully support a growing body.

Ensure that you and your family receive the appropriate protein intake with these amazing recipes from our Superfood kitchen to yours!
