5 Morning Habits for a Positive Day

5 Morning Habits for a Positive Day

Aug 16th 2019

It’s not always so easy to get out of bed and tackle all of our never-ending daily obligations. Considering we live in one of the busiest times in history where we are all multi-tasking and juggling a million things, it's hard to stay focused and grounded at times. While sleep is important, we encourage you to hit snooze a few times less in order to get up and do some things to positively set the tone for your day!

1. Avoid your phone.

You’ve seen the studies on blue light, and how it can disrupt the calmness of your mind. In addition to this, waking up immediately to emails, texts and reminders of what you have to do all day can be enough to make you want to run for the hills! Try giving yourself more time to be present and not be distracted by your phone.

2. Step outside.

Ground yourself with a nice little stroll down the street. Listen to the birds sing, breathe in the air, wave to a neighbor, listen to your favorite song, take in your surroundings. All of these things can help keep you present and enjoy the moment.

3. Stretch/Move your body.

As we age, our bodies continue to stiffen, especially first thing in the morning. To combat this, set aside 5 to 10 minutes to give your muscles a little TLC. And if you sit at a desk most of the day, take frequent breaks to move your body whether it’s a short walk, a few pushups, or busting out some jumping jacks. And don't be nervous for someone to see, you never know who you may inspire.

4. Meditate.

In a world that is essentially chaos, we know this one is a challenge. But it’s a challenge with proven benefits like reducing stress, improving happiness, and helping you focus. If you’re not down to sit in complete silence, check out Insight Timer and/or Headspace—apps with guided meditations as short as 5 minutes and as long as an hour.

5. Eat Superfoods.

We have a superfood for everyone! Want a mood booster, supplement with Maca. Want an anti-inflammatory, try Turmeric. Want to improve focus, try Beets +. Head to our website to learn more and find the superfood for you.

If it's unrealistic to implement all 5 of these right away, choose just a couple and focus on those for a week. If we just do a little bit to improve ourselves every day, we will always be moving in the right direction which is all that really matters!
