Golden Berries & Berry Adventure

Mother Nature’s Sweet & Tart Superfood Snack!
Remember those sweet, tart and chewy candies you loved when you were a kid? Well, Mother Nature made her own version that’s just as delicious, PLUS it has amazing superfood qualities — we’re talking about the Golden Berry!
What Are Golden Berries?
Golden Berries on VineAlso known as Incan berries, golden berries are one of the few select foods grown at the ancient mountaintop citadel of Machu Picchu. These superfruits grow on a vine and are covered by a thin papery cape. The ripe fruit is the size of a large marble, with a rich golden color. This lost crop of the Incas is rich in vitamin A and fiber, a good source of vitamin C, plus it has iron and protein. The best part? These tangy sweet treats are delicious! Check out what people are saying…
“I bought these because they are healthy but once I open the bag I can’t stop eating them. Such a great snack!” – June
“My friend purchased organic golden berries at a health food store. When I asked him if I could try some, he replied, “Sure, but you’re not gonna like them.” He was right: That particular brand was much too tart for me. Then I decided to give Sunfood golden berries a chance & I’m so glad that I did!! They taste sweeter to me than that other brand with just enough sweetness to balance out the tart flavor. Now I’m so hooked on Sunfood golden berries that I joyfully eat them by themselves straight out of the bag!” – Lora
“Wow, these put a kick in my trail mix! Tangy, a little sweet, and chewy–goodness all around!” – Raw Hiker
“Every time I purchase a bag of these, it’s with the intent to have them last. However they are so delicious that it has never been the outcome!” – T_uhwerp
“I love these golden berries! They are tart with a bit of sweet. Perfect replacement for a sour candy. I could eat a whole bag in one sitting if I didn’t stop myself. My almost 2 year old loves them too!” – Jessica
Support Indigenous People in Peru
Machu PicchuOur raw, organic, non-GMO golden berries are grown high in the Peruvian Andes by indigenous farmers who have partnered with a sustainable, organic organization to form a conscious agricultural community. Before this partnership began, these farmers were only growing potatoes and corn, which were subject to the limited demands of the local economy. This made it difficult to support themselves. Now, with the help of the organization, the union in the Andes of Peru consists of 80 different families, who now all work together with the same philosophy to sustainably produce an ancient crop that was grown by their ancestors and revered as sacred.

Golden berries are delicious and can be enjoyed right out of the bag, or you can use them to create snacks, trail mixes, smoothies, or recipes such as this amazingly decadent Golden Berry Fudge!
