Certified Organic Cacao Beans
The fruit of the cacao tree contains a small bean from which all chocolate is made. Cacao is an incredible health food in its natural state, filled with energy-boosting nutrients. Loaded with minerals such as magnesium which may contribute to normal bone health and healthy immune function, cacao is also high in copper and manganese. This amazing food has been revered for centuries by cultures such as the Aztec and Maya.

The Sunfood Difference™
We have only the finest variety of certified organic heirloom cacao beans – never hybridized, genetically modified, roasted, or artificially enhanced in any way. We simply pick them, clean them, and use a low temperature drying technique to preserve the delicate nutrients and rich flavors found in raw cacao. Our raw beans are the least processed form of cacao available.

Amazing Review by Ricardo
This is amazing. So this is what Chocolate is made of. This goes well with stevia in a smoothie. I mix this with a banana and almond milk and it comes out good. Very healthy and delicious. I also sometimes add Lucama powder which gives a Carmel, vanilla, and chocolate taste. Not to mention it's very cheap. (Posted on 3/31/15)
Hard to not eat too many Review by Andrew
The quality of these beans is obviously high since under the skin they reveal a purple tinged bean bursting with flavor. So good you don't even need sweetener. (Posted on 9/28/14)
Surprise Review by linda
I was not sure how to peel these but it was easy. I use them now instead of the store brand cocoa powder and know it is healther. Getting used to the taste is adventurous. (Posted on 9/22/14)
Fresh & Aromatic Review by 314Tully
I couldn't believe how wonderfully fragrant these beans were - nice and floral. Very fresh and very high quality (like all Sunfood items). (Posted on 1/26/14)
Simply amazing Review by Anthony
I've tried several "brands" of cacao, and many of them fall short of excellence. These beans are fantastic. Nutrient dense. Delicious flavor. I use them to make a chocolate milk. Perfection. (Posted on 12/9/13)
Love the deep chocolate taste!!! Review by Judi
These Cacao beans are extraordinary!! I love their nutty taste, how delicious the chocolate is and how little I need to satisfy my chocaholic cravings! And that it's organic and healthy... Wow, I love them!!!! (Posted on 11/17/13)
food of the gods Review by Elizabeth
this is a great product. I specially appreciate that the papery skins are left intact on the cacao beans for me to discover and peal off by lightly pinching and popping each off as I eat the bean. I hope these are always available with the skin on, as I'm thinking I might even start saving some skins for sprinkling into the potting soil I use for my window plants (you can actually eat them if you want to, though--they are perfectly edible). raw cacao beans are never sweet, so don't expect them to be, if you've never had them before. the taste is somewhat cool and bitter, like completely unsweetened baker's chocolate, but pure and clean. not so much like nibbling on coffee beans, as coffee beans have more of a burned, dry crunch, while cacao beans are a bit firmer and denser, with a distinct, raw cacao aroma and flavor. I've heard some folks dip the whole beans in agave or blend them in smoothies, but I never have--I just grab a handful out of the bag to keep in my pocket and nibble on during the day. enjoy these for their many health benefits, and for the experience of partaking in something very special, as nature intended. great for smoothies Review by Dee
I'm not too fond of eating the beans alone, but I love the subtle flavor of chocolate that they add to my healthy smoothies, even with ginger and citrus, or greens, very nice. (Posted on 4/22/13)
wow Review by ricky
I must be on a different planet, as I think these taste horrendous! Bitter, Bitter Bitter. But, I can suffer through a few a day for the nutritional fx, and I think they do work as an appetite suppressent. (Posted on 8/26/12)
A nice healthy snack. Review by theman
I'm trying to loose some weight, and I'm sure the cocao beans will help. These are by far the best cacao beans I have ever had, my wife loves them as well. (Posted on 6/20/12)
Too much Omega 6s Review by Rob
I love raw cacao. I chew them plain sparingly. However, I do worry about the high Omega 6 content. There's warnings out there, that having too much Omega 6 (inflamation) over Omega 3 (anti-inflamation) can be troublesome. So still hesitant on overeating these. (Posted on 3/25/12)
so perfect Review by julia
I have tried several brands of raw cacao beans and I must tell you these are the best tasting! Not too bitter, flavorful, and just delicious! (Posted on 2/29/12)
amazing beans Review by smrky
I have a bean or two in between meals to keep me from snacking. I eat them like a lozenge taking my time to gently peel the skin off (once it's soft it comes off easily and I'm sure is very healthy as well), then I suck on the naked bean until it becomes soft. I can make a couple of beans last an hour or more if I'm patient which is a great way to not eat too much.

Best cacao product Review by Julia
I like all of the cacao products, but this one if my favorite. When you take off the skin, most of them are still purple inside. The beans are so much tastier and richer than the nibs and the powder. They blend well in my cocoa drink that I make in the morning. Highly recommended. (Posted on 10/13/11)
