FAQs
In what country is the phytoplankton cultivated?
Spain
How much Iodine is in the Oceans Alive Marine Phytoplankton?
Our current testing shows none and therefore the levels are so minuscule that they don’t reach the threshold for testing.
How much vitamin D is in the Phytoplankton?
Our current test results for Vitamin D show that there is none in the phytoplankton.
Is the SOD absorbed in the digestive system?
Since the size of the cells in phytoplankton are so small (5x smaller than a red blood cell), it’s able to be absorbed into your bloodstream before it hits the digestive tract/stomach. This is a major advantage because SOD is very fragile and is destroyed by stomach acid.
Does the phytoplankton have a certificate of safety that guarantees that it has been filtered or is free from toxins?
Yes. A Certificate of Analysis is available.
If the phytoplankton is cultivated, how is it different from the phytoplankton from the sea?
The isolated heirloom multi-strains of phytoplankton ensure no contamination by less effective strains of phytoplankton. These proprietary strains were selected for the highest profile suited for human consumption.
Which omega fatty acids are present in the phytoplankton?
All Omegas are in the product along with literally thousands of nutrients that the body can utilize to manufacture vitamins, hormones, enzymes, etc.
I read that humans do not have the digestive enzyme needed to digest marine phytoplankton unless it is what is called open cell phytoplankton, where the cell walls are purposely ruptured during the production process. This means that humans can ingest but not digest phytoplankton, so they can't get any benefit from it. Have you heard this before?
We believe this is a false marketing point used by a particular company selling a popular phytoplankton product to try to differentiate their product. The cracked or open cell concept with regards to phytoplankton is not required and actually cannot be done to an organism as small as phytoplankton without heat or chemical treatment. The idea was borrowed from the process used for the micro algae Chlorella which is actually required to make it assimilable by the body. The nano-particulate size of the nanochloropsis micro algae used in Ocean’s Alive Marine Phytoplankton is so tiny that it is already 100% assimilable to the human body without the need for further processing. This is also why is it is raw.
