Cacao, sometimes called cocoa, is cultivated and harvested from beans inside the fruit of the cacao tree and is the basis of chocolate. An incredible health food in its natural state, pure chocolate provides natural energy and supports heart health. Mineral-rich and filled with antioxidants that protect our bodies from free-radical damage, cacao even helps our brains create Anandamide, also known as the “Bliss Chemical.”

The Sunfood Difference

Our raw, organic cacao products come from hand-selected cacao beans. Most other cacao products are exposed to temperatures as high as 300 degrees Fahrenheit during processing. Our cacao processing temperatures are never allowed to exceed 120 degrees. A high-accuracy thermometer is used throughout processing to ensure this quality and standard. No chemicals or solvents, such as hexane, are used at any point of our processes. Our cacao powder is also tested to be clear of micro-organisms and heavy metals.
