There’s a reason popcorn is one of the most popular snacks around. It’s light, has a satisfying crunch, and can be flavored as dynamically as potato chips! Plain popcorn is great and all, but if we’re being honest–sometimes you need to jazz it up!

Consider this a plant-based variation of the dairy-based cheesy popcorn. Instead of dairy-cheese, we use nutritional yeast to give it that ever-so-cheesy flavor. Nutritional yeast is essentially deactivated yeast with B-vitamins and protein. Contrary to the confusion of its name, nutritional is indeed gluten-free and ok for Candida Diets.
For anti-inflammatory properties and beautiful color, we also include turmeric. It contains a powerful compound called curcumin, renowned for its potential to support and balance inflammation in the body. The anti-inflammatory benefits may help support healthy joints, mobility, and muscles. Curcumin is also a potent antioxidant, helping to support your immune system, and brain health.

Cheezy Superfood PopcornPrint Recipe
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 1 T turmeric
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
Pop popcorn kernels in whichever way you prefer. We like to kick it old school and use coconut oil in a pan. But it's up to you! While the popcorn is popping, combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Pour popped popcorn into a large bowl and toss with mixture. For an extra treat, drizzle melted coconut oil over top. Enjoy!
