Raw Spanish Bee Pollen

The Buzz on Ancient Civilizations' Most Sacred Superfood

“I absolutely love this product. I am obsessed. I sprinkle it on anything I can think of from Greek yogurt, roasted veggies, to on top of a slice of bread with peanut butter. I love the taste and am 100% happy with it!!” – Bernadette

Sunfood Spanish Bee PollenFor centuries, civilizations from around the globe have praised bee pollen as a sacred source of energyrejuvenation, longevity and stamina. Our earliest ancestors believed pollen to be a miracle food; Egyptians even covered the bodies of the deceased with beeswax and honey to preserve them on their journey to the next world! These beliefs were later adopted by early pioneers of western medicine, including the father of medicine, Hippocrates.

So what is Bee Pollen?

Pollen is the tiny, dust-sized fertilizing element found on the stamen of all flower blossoms. As honey bees travel from flower to flower looking for nectar, the pollen collects into little clumps on their legs. When a bee returns to the hive and crawls in, small clumps of pollen fall from the legs into a collection vessel. This vessel becomes a nutrient dense powerhouse containing 20% complete protein, amino acids, vitamins A, B, & C, as well as essential minerals, including iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and calcium. With a taste similar to honey and soft texture,  Spanish Bee Pollen is both delicious and versatile!

“First thing you'll notice is how this pollen tastes much better than most. The next thing you may notice is you only need to use a little of this potent pollen to feel the effects.”– Anthony

According to the Environmental Protection Agency1, you will annually come into contact with over 187 toxins, defined as “pollutants that cause or may cause serious health effects or adverse environmental and ecological effects,” stressing the immune system and harming the body. How do we fight these toxins? With pollen!

Bee Pollen’s intense make-up of proteins, vitamins and minerals are widely documented for their antioxidant activity. The National Institute of Health states that these antioxidant molecules “have been studied for their capacity to prevent radiation toxicity both with regard to reduction of radiation-related cytotoxicity and for reduction of indirect radiation effects including long-term oxidative damage.”2 Meaning, they have the ability to strengthen immunity, counteract the effects of radiation and chemical toxins, and generate optimal health and vitality.

The Sunfood Difference

Our bee pollen is harvested in the Spanish countryside by beekeepers who treat their bees with the highest regard. Pure, unadulterated, raw and verified Non-GMO, our bee pollen is dried using a unique low temperature process, which maintains the live enzymatic content and keeps it in a highly mineralized, alkaline state.

Let’s Talk About Honey

Honey bees are doing more for your immune system than you may think! Along with producing the all-encompassing superfood bee pollen, bees are busily producing the sweet nectar we know commonly as honey. This sticky sweetener has been found to be "a natural antioxidant and antibacterial, proven to have healing effects on coughs caused by upper respiratory infections."3 Similarly, a study through Penn State College of Medicine found that “Honey did a better job reducing the severity, frequency and bothersome nature of nighttime cough from upper respiratory infection than (over-the-counter) dextromethorphan.”4

WeeBee Raw HoneyUnlike conventional honey, WeeBee Honey is raw and completely unprocessed. Never compromised with harmful chemicals, pesticides or herbicides, beekeepers opt to use natural essential oils to preserve their hives. This helps the colonies remain strong and healthy in the face of a national bee decline. The bees forage only on wildflowers from plants, grasses and trees, far from any contamination. The honey is never heated, filtered or strained so that all the nutritional elements are not compromised. It is like eating straight out of the hive!

“This has to be the most delicious honey I have ever tasted! It is so good and smooth.” – Vicktoria

Wee Bee Honey is our favorite because of its amazing creamy texture, pollen content, propolis (resinous mixture that honey bees collect from botanical sources), and honeycomb. Non-GMO, raw and gluten free, this sweet treat is suitable for everyone!
